Kickoff Resources

Hi BIC Teams – Here are the official rules. Here is the Release Form.

Below is an overview of suggestions for your prototype plus links to data, slides, and other resources presented at the Kickoff event May 5th…

Judges on May 20th will be looking for:

- A working prototype on a mobile phone or desktop simulation (we will have a projector)
- This does not have to be complete but demonstrates the experience, value, and utility
- To define the strategy, consider a few slides about market goals and a business model
- Prepare around 10 minutes of overview and display of value to make Boston Better!

If you are interested in getting help from any of the Mentors, please send an email to contact@bostoninnovationchallenge.com – we can arrange a meeting anytime but also on Saturday, May 12th at the Hi-Lab… if that works best… let us know.

Resources:

Our partner Luminoso used natural-language processing to analyze the bios of today’s participants — then produced suggested matches of teams and mentors: http://bit.ly/ILHHt9 Search the spreadsheet for your name and check out their mentor/team suggestions, plus suggested persons you should meet. If you’d like help making the suggested connection, email the name you’d like to meet to contact@bostoninnovationchallenge.com

Red Cross data and handouts (sorry, all we have are PDFs). Also, one team asked about the minimum needed for disaster preparedness, so check out Kat’s “Go Bag.”

The Boston Globe API for participants.

City of Boston CRM service request data. It’s not pretty, but it’s not horrible either. Questions on the data can be sent to: Curt Savoie at Curt.Savoie@cityofboston.gov or Daniel O’Brien at daniel_obrien@radcliffe.edu
